Rack Load Simulator (RLS)

MB Rack Load Simulators replicate road and vehicle inputs acting on steering gear, or rack for rattle performance tests under simulated road load conditions. The repeatable reproduction of real driving conditions like chuckhole-type transients, impacts, critical road surfaces or synthesized events that accentuate rack rattles help to identify, diagnose and resolve root causes of annoying noises.

The extreme low operating noise of these non-hydraulic actuators enables noise and vibration measurements and evaluation based on objective Squeak & Rattle metrics. Repeatable and objective testing and troubleshooting on component level enables the comparison of different components and designs and helps to fix the root cause of rack rattle noise before it appears in the vehicle.
